China Visa Covid-19 update:

Starting on the March15th , the Chinese embassy will provide convenience to those who have been vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine produced in China only and hold a vaccination certificate.

(1) Foreign personnel and their family members who go to China to engage in resumption of work and production activities in various fields can prepare materials and submit applications in accordance with the requirements before the new crown epidemic. That is, there is no need to provide the “invitation letter (PU)” “, “Invitation Letter (TE)” and “Invitation Verification Form”.

(2) People going to China for “emergency humanitarian needs”: foreign family members of Chinese citizens or permanent residents, including spouses, parents, children and other close relatives living together (referring to siblings, grandparents, grandparents, grandchildren, and grandchildren). Reasons for going to China: family reunion, support, visiting relatives, going to China for funerals or visiting critically ill relatives. Those who meet the above conditions can submit a China visa application.

(3) Those who hold a valid APEC business travel card can apply for a China business visa with a valid APEC business travel card and an invitation letter issued by an inviting unit in Mainland China.

Please note that the above related conveniences are only applicable to those who have been vaccinated with the Covid-19 vaccine produced in China (inoculated with the vaccine produced in China and given 2 shots at the specified time interval or within 14 days after the single shot of the vaccine produced in China), and have a vaccination certificate Visa applicants with materials no longer need to provide a negative nucleic acid test certificate and the “trajectory of travel and health declaration form in the past 14 days” when submitting the application.

Q1 Visa . Issued to Foreigners who are family members* of Chinese citizens or of foreigners with Chinese permanent residence and intend to go to China for family reunion, or to those who intend to go to China for the purpose of foster care.   6. Q2 Visa. Issued to Foreigners who intend to visit their relatives who are Chinese citizens residing in China or foreigners with permanent residence in China. The intended duration of stay in China is no more than 180 days. Apply Now

  7. R Visa. Issued to Foreigners who are high-level talents or whose skills are urgently needed in China.

  8. X1 VisaIssued to Foreigners who intend to study in China for a period of more than 180 days. Apply Now

  9. X2 Visa. Issued to Foreigners who intend to study in China for a period of no more than 180 days. Apply Now

  10. S1Visa. Issued to Foreigners who intend to go to China to visit the foreigners working or studying in China to whom they are spouses, parents, sons or daughters under the age of 18 or parents-in-law, or to those who intend to go to China for other private affairs. The intended duration of stay in China exceeds 180 days.

  11. S2 Visa. Issued to Foreigners who intend to visit their family members* who are foreigners working or studying in China, or to those who intend to go to China for other private matters. The intended duration of stay in China is no more than 180 days.

  12. Z Visa . Issued to Foreigners who intend to work in China.

 
China Tourist Visa (L VISA)

Issued to Foreigners who intend to go to China as a tourist.
Valid for 10 years with multiple entries for U.S. Citizens.

U.S. citizens may qualify for a multiple entry China tourist visa, valid for ten years.

 

 

Required Documents: You must prepare and send the following documents to us for your Tourist Visa:

1. Passport:

You must provide your actual signed passport, including one copy of the personal information page of your passport. Your passport must

  • be valid for more than 6 months.

  • contain at least two blank visa pages.

  • Non-U.S. Citizens must send a green card copy, or copy of “H” visa or “F” visa or a valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of U.S government.

  • All minor applicants must submit a copy of birth certificate, and a copy of both parents passport data page, please click here for additional requirements.

2. Application Form

  • Download Application Form V. 2013, you must completely fill out on computer. Do not leave any areas blank but instead write “N/A” if you don't have answer to a question, or if the question does not apply to you.

  • The form must be printed single-sided;

  • Be dated and signed in blue or black ink

3. Photo. One form per applicant with one photo

  • The Chinese Consulate requires a photograph that meets very strict requirements.

  • The photo with the application form must be 2x2 passport style that is professionally taken and printed.

  • Please do not staple the photo onto the application form, you may attach the passport style photo onto the application form with tape.

4. Job Description:

  • Please complete this Job description Form. This form is not required for high school students, homemakers, retired, unemployed persons and children.

5. Supporting Document. You must provide one of following supporting documents:

  • A copy of your round trip airline ticket, or

  • Photocopy of your round trip itinerary AND your hotel reservation

  • An Invitation Letter issued by a relevant entity or an individual in China. Any kind of invitation letters shall include the following items:

  1. Personal information of the applicant: name, gender, date of birth, nationality and passport number;

  2. Information concerning the applicant's visit to China : Purpose, arrival and leaving date, places to visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviter, and who will bear the cost of the applicant's accommodations in China.

  3. Information of the inviter: name of the unit or individual, phone number or email, and Inviter's address in China.

  4. Official stamp, and signature of the legal representative or an individual.

China Business Visa ("M" Or "F" VISA)

 

The Category “M” business visas are issued for commercial and trade activities, such as visiting clients, meeting with business partners, and attending trade fairs. These visas are typically valid for 3 months. US citizens may be eligible for a 10-year multiple entry visa.

 

The category “F” business visas are for academic exchange including conducting research, attending conferences, and University collaboration. These are typically valid for 3-6 months with 1-2 entries.

Required Documents: You must prepare and send the following document to us for your business visa:

Please refer to the Important Information section above for more details.In addition to the language provided in the sample, your Business Cover Letter must:

  • The letter must be addressed to: Embassy of China.​

5. Business Invitation Letter issued by a trade partner or trade fair invitation relevant entity in China.

The business invitation letter must include the following:

  • Personal information of the applicant: name, gender, date of birth, nationality and passport number;

  • Information concerning the applicant's visit to China : purpose of the visit, date of arrival and leaving, places to visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviter, and who will bear the cost of the applicant's accommodations in China 

  • Information of the inviter: name of the unit or individual, phone number or Email, Inviter' s address in China, if possible, fax number.

  • Official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual. The invitation letter may be a copy or fax.

6. Proof of Residency:

You need to submit a document that proves your current residential address. This proof document can be a copy of your driver’s license or utility bill.

You must provide a copy of the front and back of your airline crew identification badge.

6. Copy of your Driver's License

You must provide a photocopy of your driver's license. The home address you provide on the visa application form must match the address displayed on your driver's license.

Note: Delta Bases Requirement Visas are allowed by Delta for Flight Attendants in the following bases:  Atlanta, Detroit, Seattle and Los Angeles.

Study Visa ("X" Visa)

X1 VisaIssued to Foreigners who intend to study in China for a period of more than 180 days.

For "X 1" Via (study in China for a period of more than 180 days), JW202 Form is required. A letter of acceptance from your Chinese based educational establishment.  

Note for JW 202 form:

  • Compare your JW202 with your passport and verify that your name, date of birth, passport number and birth city are the same on your passport and your JW202

  • Submit both the original and a copy with your application materials.  The original will be returned to you with your visa
