China Business Visa ("M" Or "F" VISA)

 

The Category “M” business visas are issued for commercial and trade activities, such as visiting clients, meeting with business partners, and attending trade fairs. These visas are typically valid for 3 months. US citizens may be eligible for a 10-year multiple entry visa.

 

The category “F” business visas are for academic exchange including conducting research, attending conferences, and University collaboration. These are typically valid for 3-6 months with 1-2 entries.

Required Documents: You must prepare and send the following document to us for your business visa:

1. Passports:

You must provide your actual signed passport, including one copy of the personal information page of your passport. Your passport must

• be valid for more than 6 months.

• contain at least two blank visa pages.

Note: The last three pages on U.S. Passport are amendment and endorsement pages and not visa pages. They cannot be used for visa stamp. If your passport doesn't meet the requirement, click here to see our passport services.

• Non-U.S. Citizens must send a green card copy, or copy of “H” visa or “F” visa or a valid certificates of legal staying provided by the relevant authorities of U.S government.

• Additional Requirements for Minors:

Copy of the Birth Certificate

A copy of passport from both parents

• Additional Requirements for Chinese Americans Born in China:

• First time applicants who were born in China must submit original Chinese passport.

• First time applicants who were born in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau must submit a photocopy of their previous passport

2. Application Form

You must complete the Application Form online and print it out. Do not leave any areas blank; instead, write "N/A" if you don't have an answer to a question, or if the question does not apply to you.

The form must:

• Be printed single-sided.

• Be dated and signed in blue or black ink.

Notice: When you start filling out the application form online, the computer will provide you with an Application ID. You must write this ID down and remember it for later use. You can save the form temporarily.

For applicants born in China, Macau, Taiwan, or Hong Kong, you must also type your Chinese name in Chinese characters under the "Other name(s)" section on the online visa application form. (大陆或港台出生的申请人，务必将中文名字填写在签证申请表上)

Additional Requirements for Chinese Americans Born in China:

• First time applicants who were born in China must submit original Chinese passport.

• First time applicants who were born in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau must submit a photocopy of their previous passport.

3. Photo. One form per applicant with one photo

• The Chinese Consulate requires a photograph that meets very strict requirements. The photo with the application form must be 2x2 passport style that is professionally taken and printed. Please do not staple the photo onto the application form, you may attach the passport style photo onto the application form with tape.

5. Official Business Invitation Letter issued by a Company in China.

The offical business invitation letter must show which company in China has invited you for business. The letter must be on the company letterhead and should also contain the company stamp.

The letter must include the following:

• Personal information of the applicant: name, gender, date of birth, nationality and passport number;

• Information concerning the applicant's visit to China : purpose of the visit, date of arrival and leaving, places to visit, relationship between the applicant and the inviter, and who will bear the cost of the applicant's accommodations in China 

• Information of the inviter: name of the unit or individual, phone number or Email, Inviter' s address in China, if possible, fax number.

• Official stamp, signature of the legal representative or the inviting individual.

6. Proof of Residency:

You need to submit a document that proves your current residential address. This proof document can be a copy of your driver’s license or utility bill.

​7. Previous Chinese Visa:

If you have visited China before, then you need to provide a copy of the previous Chinese visa. It must be the most recently issued version.

If your last valid visa is on your previous old passport, please make sure to submit the original previous old passport.

 Note:

• If you work with the media, NGO, or as part of a religious organization, you must have a personal statement letter as well as a letter from your employer on the company letterhead. The same applies if you work for an NGO. These should show that you are not traveling with the intention to perform any religious or media work.

• If you are a U.S. Citizen born in Tunisia, Syria, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and Cameroon, and you intend to travel to China with an American passport, the rules are a bit different. You must show up in person to apply for a China visa.

• If you are a non-U.S- citizen, you must include a valid work visa or Green Card copy with your China visa application.
